Hidden tool in Capture One?

In my e-mail box I saw an ad from Capture One with a picture with the following message: Take total control of your contrast with Capture One 20.
It looks like the cropping tool, but with some extra sliders. In al the tutorials online I never came across this tool. What is it and where is the tool in Capture One (Windows version)? 🙄
I could not send the image with this message. ☚ī¸

    In the "What's New in V20" pages the phrase seems to be connected to the revised HDR tool.

    There are no hidden tools in C1 as far as I am aware.

    OK, but the revised HDR tool does not show the window like the cropping tool with the extra sliders in it.

    This image appears at the moment on the Capture One website, though it bears no relation to anything I have ever seen in the app. Is that the one you had in mind?

    The same image is used with a different overlaid box in other links.

    I'm wondering if that one is related to C1 when built in to a Phase One digital back?

    Yes, that is the image I saw in the advertisement of Capture One 20 in my mailbox. It is confusing, but still I like the idea and possibility to use something like that with all the sliders combined to work on my photo.

    Probably insufficient space on screen to give the tools enough resolution to be properly useful, although the idea is quite appealing.

    The new Basic Colour Editor functionality is quite close to offering some of the tweaks that that design concept appears to propose.

    I think that Grant ("SFA") is right, that the controls would be too small to achieve fine enough control. But it does show at a glance what has been adjusted.

    Graphically they are small but there could be different solutions for this. For example the resolution of the increments could just rely on mouse direction but not position. Like when holding Alt while dragging a slider. This one follows mouse direction at a different rate. So the slider is not latched to mouse pointer and you can set finer increments. A slider is just a visual reference. There's not really need for it. Think about PS. You can set a parameter even clicking on its value and dragging left or right. You could also easily configure the increments rate according to the distance from the controller (there was a similar feature on very long videos on Youtube) or have a "real" (more accurate) slider appear above the small one when setting it.
