Sony RX100M5 - Tethering HFR mode
I'd like to be able to mount the camera for high-speed video shots (HFR) and be able to completely control focus, exposure, and recording from the computer. And I'd like a live view on the computer screen.
I can get a live view if I switch to another mode, connect to live view, and switch to HFR mode. (By the way, Sony's software does exactly the same thing.)
However, I can't get the camera into the "shooting standby" for high-speed recording without pressing a button on the back of the camera. From Sony's software I can not do this either. However, Sony's software lets me press the "movie" button from the computer to begin recording. This function is broken in PhaseOne.
Also, (and this may be a question for Sony) when the camera's USB connection is configured as "PC Remote" there is no way to download the file. The only way to download from the camera is to: disconnect USB, switch from "PC Remote" to "Mass Storage," reconnect the USB and download the files.
Preferred Workflow:
1. Mount camera
2. Remotely adjust focus, lighting, zoom, etc.
3. Record HFR Video
4. Immediately transfer new video to desktop.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 without touching the camera.
Any Help?
