Take a look at the processing receipe you use for export (the cogwheel tool). Highlight your recipe in the process recipes list, open the process recipe pane and click the Metadata tab. Tick the relevant "Include..." checkmarks.

Thanks for the reply Odd! I see that I can include various types of metadata on Export in the Process Recipe tool.

What I'm curious about is if metadata can be embedded in my images WITHOUT the need to export (basically using COP like a DAM). For example, if I import a bunch of images into a catalog can I then rate and keyword them and have that metadata embed into the files directly but leave them in the catalog (no export).

Basically I'm looking for a similar option as this in Lightroom: http://photographyconcentrate.com/light ... anges-xmp/

This may not be possible but if it is I figured this was the place to ask. 😊

I don't know for sure, but I kind of doubt Capture One will modify an original raw file. I believe that is generally considered a big no-no.

What you can do, is to first do cull and rate in some other software and then do Capture One import. Photo Mechanic, for example, will let you write metadata to the original file.

Yeah, that's exactly... I was hoping that Capture One Pro would have an option (understandably off by default) to write metadata to the original file.

Any idea if there's a venue to submit an official feature request to Phase One? Seems like something they would at least consider adding an option for since both Photo Mechanic, Lightroom and the new ON1 Photo 10 all have.

I'm using ExifTtool to import basic information (shutter speed, apperture, ISO, lens type) into tiff files scanned from negatives, before I import them to C1.
It's cmndline, so you need to create some scripts to do it comfortable, but it works fine.

Yes, a support case with " feature request" in the description.

And i would be really surprised if they would even consider it.

PO never consider ANY changes to original file, they treat RAW file as diamonds which must not be change on ANY occasion.
I've raised question with offical PO representative, to allow adjusting of shot time, and answer was no.
