Keywording - should this be happening?
I have a folder with over 400 images in it. When I select the folder, all the images appear, and keywords appear in the KW tool. Some of the KWs have a dash or minus sign by them. I wanted to make a Smart Collection from a particular KW, so I selected all images in the folder and clicked on the relevant KW and its minus sign to ensure the KW was applied to all images.
The minus sign disappeared, confirming this.
Next, I created a Smart Collection, with that KW as the search criteria.
The images didn't show up.
Eventually, after much head scratching, I typed the Keyword into the KW tool, and bingo!
My Smart Collection now works.
Any thoughts on this..?

Had you reselected the images after adding the missing KW to all images?
It is possible that your search cache in memory was still working with the previous collection. You would ideally need to reset to ensure all images were available for the search.
I can't be sure, based on your description, whether you might have done that in the steps you took but it is something that can be confusing sometimes.
There is also the question of pre-applied filters that may not be very evident at all times. However with exposure to these possibilities I find that working out what may be happening when an unexpected result is delivered is not too disorienting after a short while of use.

Thanks Grant.
I don't think I reselected the images after adding the keywords. I'll try resetting next time.SFA wrote:

I cleared all the filters in the Smart Collection settings.
