I have a situation in which I should like to shoot a tethered Canon camera and retain the original file name and numbers.
It seems that I have to change them. This is normally a good idea but this time I can't allow it to happen. Any advice?
Capture1 6.4.4 on a MAC

  If you are shooting fully tethered the camera is being controlled by Capture One and no file name is allocated by the camera - only Capture One.
  
  If you have to have the camera generate the file name then you really need to look at the Hot Folder approach to allow fast access to images coming from the camera and controlled from the camera but that is not exactly the same process offering the same options that full tethering offers.
  
  It may, however, be just what you need.

  ...or I suppose you could set up Capture One to assign the same names that the camera would have done.
