Capture One 20.x Features Request
I'm a Lightroom user and I'm moving from it to Capture One (finally), but I miss a few things that Lightroom has that would make Capture One much more powerful.
1) Be able to select a folder in a catalog and see subfolders content
Capture One can't see the content of subfolders when I'm browsing my photos in a catalog. It would be nice if I could have the option to tell Capture One to list the content of a folder and its subfolders.
2) Be able to set the name of the exported photo for each recipe
If I have many different process recipes, they all obey the output naming, which is the same for every recipe. Even though I can add the sub name to the output naming, the rest is still the same. For example, for one of my recipes, I rename my photos to YYYYMMDDHHMMSS-subname.jpg but for another one, I export as MyName-seq.jpg. They are completely different. So, I'd like to be able to set a different name for every recipe. It could be another tab inside the process recipe.
3) Be able to put two or more color tags on one photo
I know, it doesn't exist in Lightroom too, but it would be nice to be able to set more than one color tag to one photo
4) Apply settings from previews photo
It would be nice if there could be a button to apply all the settings from the previews photo to the current one, without having to copy and paste. For example, I've finished editing one photo (crop, layers, etc.) and go to the next photo. I could click one button (or a keyboard shortcut) and all the settings from the previews photo would be applied to the current one.
Thanks

Good points. I in particular like 1 and 3.
Please be aware to have your request logged, you have to open a support case.0 -
I haven't tried it, but I think number 2 should be possible now.
In the Output Naming tool, just put the token Sub Name, and nothing else. Then for each recipe, use tokens and text to define the sub name.
So one of them could be My-Name [Counter} in the sub name field
... and another one could be [Colour space] [Owner] [Image Name] in the sub name field.
You'd have to make sure that there was something that would ensure that two output images didn't have the same name, so Counter or Image Name or something.

And I think being able to have more than one colour tag is a really good idea - I often wish for that.

Interesting! I haven't thought of that! I'll try it and let you know!0 -

Perfect!! Exactly what I needed! Worked like a charm! Thanks!0 -
For number 4
You can pretty much already do that.
Once image 1 is prepared, Ctrl click on the next image so both are selected.
Ctrl+Alt+Shift+C will copy and paste the adjustments from the active image (the first one usually) to the second one.
If you prefer a different key or combination of keys you can revise the Keyboard Short Cuts definitions to suit your needs.

Yes, I could do that. But in my workflow, it wouldn't be pratical. Sometimes, I do it for 10 or 20 photos in a row. Thank you anyway. As a matter of fact, I have figured out a workaround. As I'm using a MIDI device, I was able to execute two commands in a row when a press a button. So, I execute a Copy Settings and then a Next Photo. It's working for now.

If you are copy the settings (without further adjustment) to multiple additional image you can simply select all of the additional images and apply in one go.
If you are applying to one, making additional changes and then copy that result to apply to the next image then yes you have to re-copy for each revised image but that can still be done with a single action.
I work like these examples pretty much all the time. I don't find it problematic to simple use the existing facilities but then I don't have the added convenience of a tablet or MIDI device that might make the regular methods seem tedious.
Still, so long as you have discovered how to obtain the functionality you need all should be good.
