    Hello,

I switch from Aperture to Capture One (as a lot of people actually).

Congratulations! I hope you enjoy what Capture One has to offer. It's a great piece of software.

I make equestrian events photos, some time 2 or 3 events same time (i employe photographers et vendors in this situation). I don't print on events, i print at home so my vendors only take orders. Actually with Aperture i have 1 licence, many macbook, my vendors unload memory cards in a little aperture library design only for the event and take orders. After the events i merge all in a central library on my Mac Pro and proceed orders for my clients. So actually i have only 1 aperture licence, no need more, i am the main user.

I believe you can run your license on two machines at most. Whether this is actually checked I don't know as I don't have more than 2 machines that run Capture One but I'm sure someone else can chime in on whether that's a possibility. The folks at PhaseOne are pretty quick replying to support cases and your best bet for clarity is to submit a support case with this question.

How can i do that with capture one ? Need 1 licence by computer ? My vendors don't do ajustements, only unload photos and show it. If need 1 licence by computer perhaps media pro can be use for only cataloging photos for vendors (or photo mechanic). Don't know these products only read review (media pro 1 and photo mechanic).

I don't know the specifics of your workflow but if your on-site photographers aren't doing anything with the files other than offloading -- there might be better, cheaper options for you.

Other little thing, i use borderfx for make black frame with event name or incrustration of the event name, i know C1 don't do that and don't have plugins, somebody know a good autonomous software to do that ?

    Best regards

Whilst Capture One can't add a border to your images it can easily add a watermark which will get you 80% of the way there.

You can easily add a border with an automator script - see here

If you want the text to be IN the border... Well then I'd have to do a little more digging 😊

A standard license of Capture One Pro includes 2 activations (also known as 2 seats), so you can have it installed and activated on 2 machines. Licenses with more activations, like 5 activation and up for example, are available.
More details in the Phase One store at http://www.phaseone.com/Online-Store/Pu ... sPage.aspx

Ok, after i don't know media pro 1.

Can i use media pro 1 for only unload memory card, make some basic classement with color and folder and after integrate that easily in capture one catalog at home ?

Media pro 1 is less expensive so if my vendors can use it to only organize pictures it is perfect.
