@Andreas:  You were right, it was not a problem with the CPU.

There are two new NVIDIA driver for my DUAL-RTX2060S-8G-EVO from 01. July 2020
I took the 451.48-desktop-win10-64bit-international-nsd-dch-whql-rp.exe VGA Drivers for Content Creators

I installed the new driver and deleted the folder in \AppData\Local\CaptureOne\ImageCore
Now it seems, that everything works fine. No issues with hardware acceleration.

The export of files is now over two times faster.

The only thing I have to do now, is to find a new owner for my AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
I don't want to wait untill the issues with the Radeon RX 5700 XT are solved.

Good luck for all of you.

I can confirm that OpenCL hardware acceleration using an AMD Radeon 5700 XT and Capture One Pro 20 is broken. Here is a demo video of the issue when editing a photo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMOD4RW7AQ0

There is currently no fix. Please read the video description for more information and other links that point to this or similar OpenCL issues related to the AMD Radeon 5700 XT. The only thing we can do is to reach out to AMD (and Capture One) and try to escalate the issue.

    Specs for reference:

    • AMD Radeon 5700 XT (Adrenaline driver version 20.7.2)
    • Capture One Pro 20 Fujifilm (build 13.1.1.31)
    • Windows 10 (2004)

I'm not the most technical person on this feed but it is my understanding that Radeon 5000 series GPU all produce issues when Capture One hardware acceleration is turned on.  If you turn off hardware acceleration, no issue.  I assume that once you turn off hardware acceleration, you've paid for GPU that you aren't using?

All of the new 27" iMac offer only Radeon 5000 series GPU.  ALL OF THEM.

I can't afford an iMac Pro or a Mac Pro. I don't want to pay for a pricey iMac to then have to buy an eGPU enclosure and cards (if that'll even work).

Without trying to be too black and white about this issue - does this mean that I have to either chose to continue to patron Apple or Capture One?  That is to say, continue with Apple and go back to Lightroom or continue with Capture One and go back to Windows?

I don't want to make this choice but I don't see another option.  Is there another option?

Maybe the iMac announcement pushed this issue up the priority list, because as of version 13.1.2 the problem is resolved for me! Editing & exporting with OpenCL enabled finally works with my AMD 5700 XT.

See release notes for version 3.1.12: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012039717-Capture-One-20-13-1-2-release-notes

Valentin - thank you so much.  I am ordering my iMac now!  I was at a loss on what to do with no available Apple options.

    Thanks,

Haven't been here for quite some time, as I now see it is WORKING,  ... Windows and Mac

Thank you, Thank you ... no need to spent money on new GPU, but  instead I can buy new Capture one :)
