Orange highlighted box with orange push pin ?

What does it mean, it does not go away even when another image is picked.

I have a MAC, but I could not get an answer over there

I typed in "Orange" in the Help Capture section and got nothing

  Most probably you activated the Compare Variant by pressing the Enter key. With Cmd+Enter you exit the compare modus.

  I read the link and there is no orange push pin description.

  Place your cursor over the "Pin".
  
  You should see a box pop up that offers you a command to unset the "Compare Variant". Just another way of clearing the selection. One might think of it as removing the pin form the display board in pre-digital days.
