Are you working in a Session or a Catalog? If a Catalog, are the images inside the catalog (managed) or outside (referenced)?

Capture One, by design, makes it difficult to make an image vanish into thin air. In a session, first move the item to the session trash (via File > Move to Session Trash). Then, empty the session trash via File > Empty Session trash.
In a catalog, you have the option to move it to the catalog trash (which has a similar functionality to a session trash) or remove it from disk straight away.

I highly recommend using the session/catalog trash, however, as recovering a deleted image is a pain nobody should have to endure.

This bypasses the OS Trash, correct?
