    To update the thumbnail in Media Pro (MP), select the image in MP and choose Action > Rebuild Item. The media (large size) image automatically updates as it is rendered each time you select it.

    With variants, only the pick of the stack is shown in MP.

    Thank you for your efforts to help.

    I have created a variant in C1 which I have converted to b&w. I think I have made that the pick of the stack (it displays a #1 in the top corner) and I have followed your instructions, but nothing in MP changes.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    In order to have CO and MP to render images identically, you have to set the preferences properly. You can follow instructions from the video tutorial at

    Summary below:

    * Media Pro preferences, Media Rendering
    * Preferred Rendering > Phase One
    * Use embedded preview > unchecked (is now not effective when Phase One rendering is chosen)

    * Media Pro, Thumbnails and Preview preferences (Edit menu)
    * Thumbnail size > 640 pixels (suggested setting)
    * Quality > Medium (suggested setting)
    * Use built-in thumbnails > unchecked

    To update the thumbnail in MP, select image in MP and choose Action > Rebuild Item. The media (large size) image automatically updates as it is rendered each time you select it.

    Many thanks. That seems to have resolved my problems. Is there any way that MP will display two variants of the same image?

    Thanks again!

    Gerry, I am afraid not, at least not that I know about.
