C1 20 Does Not Recognize Ricoh GR III
My Ricoh GR III images are all imported only with the 'generic' camera profile. Capture One provides only a single 'GR' profile in its camera list for Ricoh; no GR III option.
As I understood Phase One's publicity, C1 20 claims to support the Ricoh GR III but it doesn't,

If Capture One can recognise and process your Ricoh files, it supports them - although according to the relevant support page, it supports "DNG Native" files from Ricoh files, and DNGs are generally handled by Capture One as "generic" Raw files, which probably explains the single profile for all Ricoh cameras.

That was the case with C1 version 12. C1 version 20 claims to support the GRIII.
The jpegs C1 v. 20 renders for the Ricoh GRIII under its 'generic' profile are unusable... no different to v. 12's.
C1 does not recognize the GRIII as it claims to do.
I'm somewhat annoyed at having paid Phase One more than GBP150 for this worthless 'upgrade'.0 -

I have downloaded some sample files randomly from the dpreview web site.
V20 has a "Pentax Ricoh GR III Generic" ICC profile that is automatically detected.
The images, opened in C1, lock a bit dark and flat - just as the DPR samples do.
A quick change to Linear Curve and blast of Auto adjustments improves them a lot in my opinion.
Very nice quality.
What sort of problems are you seeing?
Grant
ETA. Some of the DPR files are incredibly dark. That may be intentional. The amount of recovery available in C1 is very significant. Very impressive.0 -

For files opened with CO12 in the past, CO20 may still use the generic profile, not the GR III specific profile. Test it by creating a new variant (not a clone), or by importing the images without adjustment into a new session or catalog.0 -
Thank you Paul; I will try with a new catalog... once C1 lets me create one. 0 -
I tried creating a new catalog, but it does not help. C1 still sees GRIII photos as 'generic'. There is no GRIII profile anywhere to be found (including under 'Pentax'); just 'GR'.
Do we have any reason to believe that Capture One really does support the Ricoh GRIII? My Olympus camera and lenses show up as the devices they are; why doesn't the Ricoh?0 -

I see the GR III specifically listed in Capture One.

I downloaded a Ricoh GR III raw file from Dpreview and opened it in CO20. It is recognized and gets the Pentax Richo GR III Generic profile. See the screenshot of Base Characteristics.

@Ian3, how do I get the image viewable in the post like you have? The Img tag does not work.0 -

Img tags still work - it's URL tags that have been disabled.

Thanks. I did use the image tag, but saw a small icon only. Let’s try again:

It must be the URL between the tags, then. I generally upload them to Flickr, then click the Share photo button. In the box that comes up, I choose the BB option. Then I copy the link and paste it in here, and delete the parts of it outside the Img tags, retaining only the highlighted bits as shown here.

They didn't for me, when I tried recently.0
