macOS Catalina Bug/Crash
Hi all,
I am having a continuous crash on macOS Catalina (iMac 5K late 2015, no other programs or software experience any issue). The same catalog does not crash on Mojave.
To resolve this, I have a clean complete install, importing the catalog into a new one, trying to open under a new user or in safe mode and disabling OpenCL completely. In all, CO crashes before the catalog opens.
the logs contains;
Application Specific Information:
assertion failure: "_needsGeometryInWindowDidChangeNotificationCount < (1 << 😎 - 1" -> %lld
According to my research, few developers who uses certain language for their software experiences same issue and feedback from macOS Catalina users.
I am just posting this as a warning to those who hasn't installed macOS Catalina yet. I have contacted TS and awaiting reply.

Thanks for posting. As a side note, I hope you filed the crash report, assuming the crash report tool popped up after the crash. Crash reports are all processed and are crucial in improving the stability of the program. 0 -
Yes, I have included Crash report generated by macOS 😎 0 -
I've posted what I believe to be a workaround in my thread on the same issue: [The Capture One forum has migrated to a new platform, as a result all links to Capture One related postsstopped working and have been removed] 1 -
You are lucky, in my case the software crashes right away even if I disable OpenCL,, now need to use my wife's MacBook 0 -
General advice: if Capture One crashes on startup, try to start with the Option key preventing opening any session or catalog. This way you can see whether it is the program only that crashes, or if it is still running and you open a session or catalog, that document that makes it crash.
Alternatively, you could try to make a new session/catalog.
This information may help you or support in finding the issue and potentially solving it.0 -
macOS 10.15.2 update seems solved this problem. Now the software is stable and working without any issue. 0
