Keyword keeps reappearing after being deleted, when it's the only keyword of the image

Are you by any chance using Auto Sync for metadata?

Is it safe to assume that the Keywords are not originating in the source file?

    That was quick :)

Yes indeed I'm using Auto Sync.

The files don't have any keywords originally, I have added them through C1. Is that what you are asking?

    Thanks!

I had this problem when a few image files aquired keywords. I thought they shouldn't have keywords but when I checked with Preview, yes the "stubborn" keyworrds were present in a couple of images.

Looks like it's a bug with Auto Sync, the issue goes away once I disable it. It was enabled because I do sometimes use Adobe Bridge to edit metadata, don't know how it will behave now that Auto sync is disabled.

Thanks for pointing me in that direction SFA!

    Hi Gábor,

I think it is a matter of what options one has set in Autosync.

Things can bounce back and forth.

There will be a "Load" usage setting that, of set for two way updates and left on all the time rather than being active only for a Load run, can produce the effects that you saw.

Your problem might be something else ... but the possibility I have just described or something like it would be worth investigating if the problem returns when you reactivate Sync.

Do you have a xmp sidecar file for this image? Auto-Sync might be reading metadata from there.

Yes, that's what I had when I moved my Lightroom catalog to Capture One. I couldn't get rid of the Lightroom keywords.
