Undo Not Functioning
After working for a while the undo function does not work - or is even highlighted. I can close C1, then restart - and it works for a while.
I see this issue on other posts - wondering if there are some newer updates.

Wow!! I'm not alone.
Start with upgrading from Capture One 12 to Capture One 20..
Can't quit catalog. Can't quit the Capture One app and a lot more problem. This is why I not going to upgrade to Capture One 21. Start using session per project. Still the same problem. Cant undo is one of them...0 -
After V20.x all sorts of problems:
- 1st it was UNDO silently stop working. Lost ton of time. Until lost recent version (14.1.1.24 - june 2021) problem diod not go away. I need to check if undo works before any "risky" task. I click on EDIT menu to see if UNDO is LIT or GRAYED out. YUCK!
- with version 21 another problem added to UNDO: Shortcuts stop working and stuff need to be clicked from (rightclick) menus. Sometimes very cumbersome. As if this is not inconvenient enough, sometimes even that stops working. Let say I need to enable MASK overlay (M) and than it refuse to go away even from menu. Fiddling to load next previous image and changing some random tool, unstick it. Sometimes just restart is needed.
- Third problem is memory leak. C1 over the course of time just grow in ram and could be 10 GB large!
- Darn thing C1 refuse to go shut off when exiting the app. If I forget to check in task manager and manually kill the process I might end up start new instance and than 2 or 3 CaptureOne.exe might run and compete for resources.
- image order sometimes does not work at all. If I put images by NAME, they are OK. If I put them by DATE they are in some odd order, not regarding date or name. If I put them MANUAL, they sort by date... go figure. Sometimes not all images are shown at all. Number above says correct number of images (filtered or not filtered), but actual images are something else; might be only few images out of thousands. Again restarting might or might not help. Som other day it is all fine.
- another issue is right click on layers is delayed by 5 seconds.
- copy of layer that use luma mask, take several second to copy/calculate luma mask (used to be a breeze).
Deleted preferences, no real change.
Updates system, no change.
Update GPU drivers, no change.
Version 12 works perfectly on same PC.0 -
FWIW, when I exit photoshop so they are not both running at the same time, the undo/redo works again. Using photoshop 20212.

Edward Leiken - thank you for your solution. In my case it does not help. I do not have Photoshop installed at all. My problems on that computer did not resolve ever since with all new versions. I blame very old (tired) windows installation that I can't (yet) reinstall. Problems are UNDO stop working at certain point, I suspect it happens after using heal brush for some time. After undo is greyed out that, also copy layers on other image often freeze program - So I need to click "undo" to see if it is still normal before I copy-paste layers if I do not want to crash program. Also right click on layers (to invert mask or copy mask, etc) become very slow; it takes few seconds to get right click menu. These issues are permanent and I blame my sistem. I never take time to install C1 on another system, but I reckon it would resolve issues. I also have issues that CaptureOne will never exit memory so I need to kill app from Task manager. Sometimes I forget and after 2 or 3 instances are in memory, system becomes laggy. Each takes 6-7 GB od RAM ...

I'm sorry my fix did not help. Your problem sucks; it pretty much makes the program unusable. The only other thing I can think of is maybe check for other programs that let you assign you own keyboard shortcuts. You might be right, it might be a corrupt Windows. There is no point on installing it on another system, thousands of people did that and it worked fine. Reinstalling windows is a PITA but why don't you try upgrading to Windows 11 and see what happens.

Edward, It's Windows and maybe that I had C1 8,9,10,11,20,21 installed on this system before since last re-install (2015) and something mixed up. I have new computer already, just not ported my database there yet and still using C1 on old PC. It's sometimes cumbersome, to bear in mind those issues. :)
