Filter (or Search) by Time
How do you Filter or Search by Time? (Also - what is the difference between Filter and Search?)
-
To search by Time you open the Advanced Search Window (click on the three dots at the right hand edge of the search window), under search criteria click "+", then in the criteria field change Any to Date and then choose the kind of date criteria you want {is on, is not on, is before, is after}, and then set the value.
To select images by Time you open the Filter Tool. If the Date category is not shown (likely it isn't, Date isn't a default category for Filter tool) then click on the three dots on the upper right hand corner of Filter Tool's window, select Show/Hide, this brings up a list of categories the Filter Tool can show, then click beside Date to enable it.
Then you will see all the possible Dates you could select in the Filter Tool, you can select one or more.
advanced Search and Filter Tool can give the same results, but the way of configuring them is very different. In Advanced Search, the user must know and provide the date. In Filter Tool, the user is presented with a list of dates, and one or more are selected with a radio button.

Truly, date is a measure of time, but a rather coarse one. By "Time", I meant (like in Aperture) something of the form HH:MM:SS.That is what I could not find.
There reason I asked about Filter and Search is that they both appear in the Advanced Search Dialog: "Search Criteria" and "Active Filters".
