Focus Tool
ImplementedThe focus tool is great idea but I have never found it to be useful. For example, in the images shown in this post the focus tool obscures everything that is in focus, and it typically doesn't indicate clearly what's in focus.
Olympus and Panasonic cameras (and I am sure a few other brands) have a feature that outlines sharply focussed edges, and this is much more useful.
Second, the EXIF information in most image files identifies the area used for camera focussing, and in other applications the outline of the focus area can be shown overlayed on the image. This form a useful complement to the the focus tool, and is very useful for understanding what is good or bad about the camera's focussing.
Both of these updates would enhance the useability of Capture One.

Hi,
Thank you for your comments regarding the Focus tool.
In Capture One, we have the Focus Mask which displays sharply focused areas - https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002473597-The-Focus-Mask
The Focus Mask works with RAW files only.

Yes, I have studies your description in the knowlledge base. I think you have missed the two points -
1) the tool isn't very accurate, accuracy needs to be improved.
2) the EXIF shows the xy position of the cameras focus. this is useful info, but different than the focus mask tool
