Watermark just created doesn'tr appear on the variant exported jpg
Hi
I'm using Capture One 20.0.4, I did not add a watermark before so I don't know wether the issue is due to the new release or not.
I added a watermark which is well displayed on the image in the edit window but after exporting variant, the watermark is not present.
See below the edition screen with watermark and the reult after export without watermark

If you go to File -> Export Images, the watermark will not appear on the exported image.
Instead, proceed to the Output tab, select the recipe and press the Process button in the Process Recipes tool.

Hi Walter Rowe
Sorry I don't what you mean.0 -
Hi Liliia
it's not easy to understand. I use the French version.
With the use of your joined picture
- the translation of Process Recipes is Préréglages de traitement (Processing presets in English)
- the translation of Process Recipe is Paramètres de traitement (Processing parameters in English)
I used Process (Traiter in French) and my Watermark is well present on the exported image, it's not explained anywhere.
Thanks
Questions :
What is the difference between Output/Process and Export ?
Why Watermark is not present in the Export window while Basic, File, Adjustment, Metada are present ?
An other question or a suggestion :
When we are drawing a mask (Hidden or Erase) on an enlarged picture, it's necessary to move but for this we have to leave the drawing mode to use Hold (?). It should be not possible to use the direction keys of the keyboard ?

Walter Rowe
thanks for your answer.
When I sent my first message I well joined a screenshot but I see that now the picture is not visible (why ?).
I'm novice and until today I have used the Export variant command.
With the answer of Liliia, I know how o obtain pictures with a watermark. The difference between Export and Process I don't know.
Thanks againRegards

Hi Francois,
Question 1
When applied to variants, the concept of exporting and processing is essentially the same.
When choosing File -> Export Images for exporting, you have a choice of selecting originals or variants. When selecting originals, a dedicated dialog opens enabling you to export copies of your source files as originals with separate settings files and metadata in XMP sidecars. There is also an available option to export RAW files as self-contained EIP files for archiving or sharing between colleagues, for example.
Meanwhile, using the Process Recipes in the Output tab allows Processing multiple file formats simultaneously.
Question 2
The Watermark tab is not present in the Export Recipe by design.
Question 3
When you draw or erase the mask with a Brush and need to move further across the image, just change the cursor tool to Pan and then select the Brush or use the corresponding shortcuts (B to draw mask and E to erase) again to continue.
(Pan cursor highlighted).

Thanks for the answers
About the Question 3,
I already know how to use the shortcuts E, B and H for respectively (I guess) Erase, Brush and Hold.
When you brush a mask with a hardness, opacity or flux less than 100%, when you stop to move the picture and brush again, you create a little zone with a higher density where because you brush twice on a little zone. With other softwares, when you are editing and when the mouse indicator is at the edge of the editing window, the picture shifts automatically in the opposite direction
This mode of operation can be useful and not only for the drawing of a mask.
I have a very positive opinion on Capture One, some points like this one can be improved.
- when you edit a picture with an enlarged view, if you select another picture, it is displayed with the same zoom, it's not very useful
-when you select an other Process Recipes or select several, the watermark moves
- to be continued

FrançoisPS : sorry if my English is not always good

Hi Francois,
Those are really good suggestions.
You may also create a post on those in the topic dedicated to the points for improvement and feature requests - https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/360000154057-Feature-Requests
Much appreciated.

I have the same problem as described in the original post of this thread but in CaptureOne 21 v14.0.2 on macOS 10.14.6 Mojave.
I have created and Saved a Text 'Watermark' and it is listed in the Process Recipes panel. When it is selected and ticked it is also included in the Process Summary and is visible in the TIFF image which has already been edited in C1 and Photoshop CS6 and Saved back to C1. But whether the Process button is used or not, the subsequently Exported TIFF to JPEG file does not display the Watermark.
Creating another version of the finished TIFF image in C1 to apply the Watermark, whether Clone or not, displays the Watermark but it is lost from the Exported JPEG.
This is very frustrating as I need different 2 versions of the finished TIFF image file exported as JPEGs - One to have a Watermark and the other no Watermark.
Please help.
-----------------
PROBLEM NOW SOLVED! As follows:
Very simple as I suspected that it would be after hours of testing so many possible solutions. Simply that 'Process' was sending by default to the C1 Library Output folder.
Lily, you have not made it sufficiently clear in this thread nor in any of your other C1 Support articles that the 'Process' button actually sends the edited file and that by the user selecting the destination location externally to C1, the desired image file with Watermark is in fact exported.
You have stated that Process and Export are different and have different consequences but you have not explained it sufficiently further. Perhaps you would consider revising all your articles on the subject accordingly - I think I have read them all in my efforts to solve my problem which is a problem many others have been experiencing.
As a separate issue, the Recipes feature (C1 v21) can easily confuse the results because the tick box selection behaviour doesn't automatically toggle the watermark's display on the image in the C1 browser, which is both the logical and expected behaviour.0
