Delete-Message for keywords should be modified
ImplementedDeleting a keyword sometimes deletes multiple keywords.
I assume, that C1 (still on V.12) has selected some keywords during my work.
Now when I select a keyword to delete and hit the delete-button the folloeing message appears:
Do you want to delete the selected keywords?
Pretty nice, but as the sidebar is to small to show all keywords I have no idea what keywords C1 has seleted.
Please change the message that it tells witch keywords will be deleted, so I have the chance to cancel the process and make the correct selection.

Yes I have had it wipe out all the keywords and the top keyword container making me reload the keyword list from a backup export.

Are these keywords in hierarchies or some random generic selection?

Yes, and sadly all the keywords in the pictures are gone :-(
I spent hours to cross-rebuild my database from saves, still dont know how many keywords I lost....
I love keywords in C1, but the implementation should be improved in many ways.
Eg. keep selecting the last entered new keyword - without browsing through hundreds of keywords until its found.
Or having the ability to enter a subkeyword after searching the topkeyword.1 -
@SFA
My keywords are in well structured hierarchies and count about 600 enties.0 -
Hierarchies are interesting in terms of deleting mechanism concepts, especially if the same KW might appear in more than one hierarchy.
I suspect (i.e. without investigating in detail I am guessing) that one has to be careful about the differences between deleting from a pre-prepared KW library that one might have created or imported for a specific purpose and deleting (or otherwise editing) the Catalogue or Session KW Library that will be generated using the existing entries found (dynamically) in the catalog or session currently associated with the entity.
Markus, I'm a little puzzled by your comments 2 posts above this one.
When you write "Keep selecting the last entered new keyword ..." what function are you performing at that point? Keyword list maintenance? Adding a KW to an image?

Hi Grant
I make an example how I work, and when the issue appears.
I work with my catalogue and report every Step - and hope you can redo it.1. open C1 (version 12) with my last imported pics.
2. select a pic
3. select keyword-browser
4. searching 'bad' in library
5. adding 'bad' to pic -> it adds 'bauwerk->bad' thats correct6. select second pic
7. searching for 'blau'
8. adding 'Blaukopf' to pic9. make new keyword: test1
10. search for keyword 'test1' in browser, as it ist not selected after entering :-(
11. selecting test1 with the right-click and select: delete selected keywords -> then ok.now test1, bad, Blaukopf are gone!!!!! instead of test1 what I wanted.
So thats the reason it is important to give a feedback in the deletemessage or modifying the selecting-process.

Hi there,
Thank you for feedback on Capture One - this is always welcomed and encouraged among our users and we appreciate the time you've taken to contribute towards the development of the software.
I have forwarded your comments and suggestions to our Product Management team as something to consider in a future release.
Whilst we cannot comment on future releases, we take all suggestions on board and hopefully your feedback contributes towards a future version of Capture One.

Yes, I've also had C1 delete more than just the keyword I had selected, even when the image with the word has been deselected. In C1, there is no sure way of deselecting a keyword or, conversely, making sure only one is selected, especially when some keywords are 'nested' in a hierarchy, the full extent of which may not be visible even when scrolling through the keyword list. This is a huge frustration, not to mention a waste of time - dare I say it Lightroom (at least in all the versions up to 6.14 I've used) has no such difficulty in deleting only one word.
The only workarounds I've found are to entirely deselect the folder containing the image with the problematic keyword, which just leaves the keyword library list displayed. It then seems possible to only select one keyword at a time (though I haven't had time to check this fully, so be warned). The other 'solution', at least as it may prevent having to rebuild an entire library, is to check immediately afterwards that deletion hasn't removed more than desired (although for reasons already given, this is difficult to do in am hierarchy). If the wrong keyword(s) has/have been deleted, the use 'Undo' to restore.
Suggestions: Apart from making sure C1, like LR, only selects one word, the message asking for confirmation of deletion could list all the words C1 thinks you want to delete, perhaps with (a) checkbox(es) next to each one which can be unchecked if a keyword is there which isn't to be deleted. In addition, there could be a Recycle Bin for deleted keywords (just as there's a Trash folder for deleted images), which would allow keywords to be reinstated.
