Keywords and hierarchies
When I put a keyword into a hierarchy, I notice that sometimes, other keywords on the image are also moved into the hierarchy, sometimes inappropriately. It seems that is is not possible to move a keyword out of a hierarchy altogether (this is on CO 20.4). It seems a keyword can be moved from one hierarchy to another, but cannot be removed from all hierarchies.

Jim,
I can't know if this is what you are seeing but when using a keyword in a search context C1 will show information about the hierarchy definition to which the KW belongs.
This is on the basis that the same KW may be used in different hierarchies and, of course, a word may have the same spelling but an entirely different meaning or connection.
This when "moving" a word you may in fact be moving part of a hierarchy definition as far as C1 is concerned.
Indeed moving a word out of the middle of a hierarchy would break that hierarchy and so seems unwise. It is probably disallowed.
For the same reasons deleting a KW from a hierarchy may not be the simplest action to undertake.
Plus for KWs in general, if any of you SOURCE files have a KW embedded the system will pick it up and use it BUT C1 will never delete it. If you need to delete a KW embedded in a source file you will need an alternative application to do so.
HTH.
