Catalog Keywords
Does anybody know if there is "another" access to the Catalog Keywords? My C1 crashes every time I try to delete or rename a keyword from the main Catalog Keywords library. I have created another keyword library by importing a text file and want to use only the new one, however when I search for a keyword in Keywords tool tab, C1 displays results from both libraries which can be confusing. Newly created library works fine, I can delete/rename without any issues.
I looked in the system Application Support folder and there is Keyword subfolder there, but it is empty.

Peter,
I think what you are referring to is the KW collection generated based on what the system finds already in use for the catalogue.
That would mean that to delete the KW you need to delete it from the images with which it is associated rather than from the catalogue.
Note that if the KW is embedded in an image file, rather than as an associated, sidecar type entry, it will continue to be found unless you use an EXIF editor (or some other application) to delete it. C1 will never change a "source" file.
That said I would not expect the system to crash in such a situation but that might depend upon what steps you are taking in order to try and effect the deletion.

I do, correct. The tab is called Catalog Keywords. I have since worked some more on the issue. You are right, C1 adds keywords automatically to Catalog Keywords library (I guess default library) as they are added to images from different KW libraries. Didn't know that little detail before, probably because I have always used only the default library.
I have also noticed, that C1 will remove a keyword from all associated images when deleting that keyboard. (Right click on a kw and select delete) This can take some time, but works fine.
I have narrowed down the problem to a handful of offending keywords, that refuse to be deleted despite not being associated with any images anymore. (Search for them returns nil) I can live with that, live is too short :-) Although it would be good to be able to clean this up....
You are right about the crashing, I wasn't expected that either.

So just to be sure - are you performing the search for All images - no other filters in place and nothing that may be marked "deleted" but not actually deleted?
There may be some other possibilities but the best option would be to try to identify any possible files that are feeding the Catalog KW entries but not showing up. Using a separate program capable of searching by using embedded text entries in files would be useful. Potentially in Windows one can just search the files using the KWs. I'm not sure what is possible with Macs.
There are certain file types that might not show up (being considered unsupported by C1) but that might be read anyway because they are there. For example undersized or oversized jpgs and anything saved as greyscale rather than rgb.
Perhaps (I have not checked this) things like png files that have embedded KWs but where the Preferences flag does not currently have them checked as editable file types.
Just a few thoughts in case they help.

Good call, cheers. There were some images in the catalog trash (still getting used to the concept). After emptying catalog trash, I was able to delete the offending keywords. Thanks again, something worth remembering for sure.
