Monitor ICC Profile
Hello -
I am using a MacBook Pro with a BenQ SW271 which is a hardware calibrated monitor.
When using the 'Viewer' in CO and moving that window to the external monitor (BenQ), which ICC profile will the BenQ use, it's own custom ICC profile or the ICC profile of the laptop's native monitor?
Do I need to open up CO with the external monitor selected as my primary monitor or does it matter?
Many thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,
I have about the same configuration (MacBook Pro with a hardware calibrated NEC PA242).
The displayed colours only depend upon the monitor, and when you move your viewer to the BenQ, you will see the preview with the display ICC profile (which is about Adobe RGB for most wide gamut monitors), which is of course different from the Capture One working colour space. If you want to get colours on your screen closer to those provided by your printer, it is of course better to preview your image on your BenQ.
My way of working is to keep the browser and the tools on my MacBook Pro, and my image in full screen mode on my calibrated NEC display. I have configurated a working space that I call "dual monitor" to that purpose.
Robert
