clone editing suggestion
ImplementedWouldn't it be nice to have a clone rotate.
Whereby you Select a source point and select target. But, if you select and hold the target point a rotate is offered.
This would be extremely useful when trying to repair areas with lines or curve features for adjusting a cloned area
Also, it would be great if the clone or other correction tools would use the selected layer including all layers below. eg.
if you correct a spot and then use clone it would include the correction. progressive correction.

I suspect that you are wishing for features that are more appropriate to a pixel editor like PhotoShop or Affinity Photo.

Ian, you wrote "I suspect that you are wishing for features that are more appropriate to a pixel editor like PhotoShop or Affinity Photo."
The same could be said about cloning or healing in general.C1 already supports translation of image portions so adding a rotational component is just refining the functionality, as opposed to breaking a paradigm.
I support the feature suggestion and hope that Capture One Pro will add more retouching capabilities in the future. Unlike Adobe, they have no Photoshop product to protect and could make it a lot easier for people to leave Adobe's subscription model.0 -
yes exactly

IanW,
i respectfully disagree. Good masking features are not the exclusive domain of pixel editors - highlighted by the capabilities to which i refer are already in LR, albeit not to the level would like. For example, wouldn't it be nice to use luma, or hue to refine the mask (wow to have a ranges in there) knee weakening.
I am new to C1 ex LR and Skylum Lumina and one thing that strikes me is C1's unique color knowledge and clever usable implementation into some powerful tools. Not to mention O1's uncanny ability to sharpen almost spooky - brilliant, but i digress. My suggestion is just leveraging the tools in a other areas.0 -
Walter, you wrote "What is missing?"
I could imagine- rotation, x/y flipping of copied areas (first part suggested by this feature request)
- frequency separation (see feature request "Detail vs Tone brushes (Frequency Separation)").
- warping
- skin detail preserving repairs/smoothing in conjunction with the existing "Skin Tone".
I'm sure there are other possibilities that don't spring to mind right now.0 -
Walter,
I could imagine

Color Range (like the Luma Range). Color selection is already available (Advanced Color Editor), Luma Range is parametric, so the next logical step would be to provide a parametric Color Range to refine the mask.
(I know you can create a rasterized mask from Color Editor, this is not the same) - frequency separation (C1 even has a Skin Color Editor, Portraiture is probably the domain of C1 and a big part of its user base)
I think I could use frequency separation also for other purposes

I have not really a firm idea what this means, but I reckon this is more appropriate for software using destructive layers like PS.?

i understand that the tech exists as i mentioned but it cant be used as a mask. Hence my request and that is would be easy. Use example: add filled layer and remove all green or blue so i can add another layer and place a sky or buildings in the background. The tech is there just apply it to the mask.

Hi there,
Thank you for feedback on Capture One - this is always welcomed and encouraged among our users and we appreciate the time you've taken to contribute towards the development of the software.
I have forwarded your comments and suggestions to our Product Management team as something to consider in a future release.
Whilst we cannot comment on future releases, we take all suggestions on board and hopefully your feedback contributes towards a future version of Capture One.
