Batch Renaming IPTC Status Title
Hello,
I'm in the process of putting some order into the several thousand images I have in C1 and am batch renaming the files in a more logical format to replace the camera names that have defined them (e.g., DSC_1234). Using text and tokens, I've already converted several hundred image names, but have just noticed that the metadata entry for IPTC-Status: Title which was defined by the original "DSC" name does not reflect the new file name.
Is there a way to get this metadata entry to change when batch renaming the files, or am I going to have to change—or simply remove—the IPTC field manually? Thanks for any suggestions or advice.

Hello,
Thanks for your reply; it's what I figured (feared, actually). Still, I wonder by what mechanism the IPTC-Status: Title field was originally populated with the File Name to begin with—I certainly did not fill in the field. My guess is that there is a setting somewhere that tells C1 to reference the File Name to automatically fill in the field upon import, a Process Recipe, perhaps. If that's the case, I could simply re-import the files after changing the names of the original RAW files using an app like A Better Finder Rename, no?

Okay, I think I've got it: there's a tool called Next Capture Naming (has anyone ever used this?) that is default loaded with "Name" and "Camera Counter" tokens. It may be that this populates the IPTC Title field, perhaps in addition to the basic "File name" field. (Although, if file naming is done with the Naming tool during import, what else would be the purpose of Next Capture Naming?) I've got to play around with this some more to be sure...

No, I'm importing my images into C1 from SD cards. You're probably right about the tethering, which is why I've never used the tool before.
