Same scenario here, MBP 15 late 2014, MacOS 10.15.4.

'Acceleration Hardware is not working' says in Settings panel, so OpenCL doesn't work.

Everything worked perfectly before C1 13.1. Now all it's running slowly as hell (I work with session, not catalog), with processor overheating (more than 500% usage switching between photos) and fans going crazy all the time.

Hardware Acceleration is on here too.

Editing, exporting, etc. is still fast as usual.. but those other things take way way way too long.

I have the same issue (import/delete) - hardware acceleration is on auto.

Same here. Importing 480 RAW images into a C1 catalog takes 27+ minutes !

Maybe It is a problem with the catalog files. I try to start a new Catalog and the speeds were total normal. Maye a solution is to start a new Catalog and Import the old one and then generate al previews new....
I think I will try it and tell you more about that after...  (weeks later ;D)

I posted the following today on a similar post in here:

    • I read on another post that if one imports an existing catalog into an empty new one that performance can be often raised significantly.

My basics: C1 release 13.1.1. All 70k Images are referenced, around 80% of them are RAW images, 2.17TB in total. The C1 catalog (320GB) as well as the images all sit on internal SSD on a Mac Pro 2019 with 48GB RAM and a Radeon Pro Vega II graphics card.

So I went for the 'trouble':

I imported my existing neatly organised 70k images catalog into a new empty catalog. It took 30 (thirty) hours + some minutes. (That's 2 seconds per image)

As the previews were not carried over from the old to the new catalog, generating the previews in the new catalog took another 25+ hours.

Now I had a new 'clean' catalog that took 40 seconds to load and start in C1. My 'old' catalog takes 43 seconds. 3 seconds gained ;)

Fine, that's about the trouble ;)

So I went and imported 480 RAW images into the new catalog in order to figure out why importing takes so long suddenly with the latest two C1 releases and hoped for the better .......  It took 27+ minutes to import those 480 picture into C1!

Conclusion: Hm, maybe it wasn't worth the trouble ....

Yes, I am going to send these findings to C1 support too.

      Cheers,

      Andy

I testet a little bit around with these Problem and also tried a total reimport of my whole 160k pic catalog.
The Problem seems to be in the quantity of the pictures. The Import slows drastically down at a pit at round about 55.000 pics.
There seems to be a boundary.
We should all wrote the C1 support to fix this because for me this is a total killer for my work process
