Capture One Installer Won't Eject
I'm running Capture One 20 on Mac. I install the program, and it asks me for the license. I enter the license and all is well. However, then I can't eject the installer from the desktop (because Capture one is using it and installed here instead of in my applications folder).
When I move it to my applications folder, the software does not ask me for my license number and runs the version without all of the bells and whistles (healing brush tool, etc.). What is happening?

You did not install Capture One properly, at least initially. I am not sure about the second part.
You download a .dmg (disk image) file. On opening, the dmg mounts, you are requested to drag the Capture One icon into the Applications folder. Next, you run Capture One from the Applications folder and unmount the downloaded Capture One dmg file.
It seems that you run Capture One from the dmg file (your first description) and/or copied the dmg file to the Applications folder. Both procedures are incorrect.
Please note that my assessment of your situation and actions is limited by the information provided and may be wrong.
