Captureone Pro and NAS Synology
Hi everyone,
I frequently have some problems using Capture One pro with a Synology NAS. As I don't know why, sometimes Captureone Pro crashes as I have some files stored in a NAS. It 's always a big big crash as I have to switch off the iMac (no way to re start from the finder).
So from now I hesitate to use Capture One but it is a pity as it is the best raw developer. Does someone have the same pb ? Technical support from C1 is not able to fix it even if already they told me that there are some troubles using Synology NAS...
How can I fix it ?
Thanks for your comments.

Vital information required:
1. session or catalog?
2. where is session/catalog saved?
3. where are images saved?
4. network protocol, SMB, AFP or both
The answers to these questions might help you to solve the problem.

The pb appears both with sessions and catalogs but mainly with catalogs because files in sessions are often located in the local drive (except when session is archived on the server).
Sessions and catalogs are saved on my computer hard drive or sometimes on an external hd (Lacie)
Images can be saved at multiple drives : NAS Synology server, external drives, etc.
The file network protocol used is SMB

Thanks for the update. Your configuration sounds right.
As you probably know, your NAS goes into sleep mode after a period of inactivity. Maybe Capture One has problems starting up when the NAS is in sleep mode.
You could try to wake the NAS before you start Capture One. Just for testing.

Paul, could you kindly suggest/post a step by step approach to coupling Capture one 20 to a synology NAS please?
I have a legacy of mixed databases : some referenced some managed.
I guess that I need to find first a way to have them all referenced, then move the images to the NAS and then hope for the best. I can't purchase a 10gigabit solution because the nas will always sit in a separate room. So I depend on wifi and on the best possible connection and software set up.
What can you recommend?
