c1 with 2 Monitor-Solution
Hello
I find the current version of C1 very successful. Especially the repair and clone mask, as well as the before and after view is very well done.
For one problem I have not found a solution under W10 yet:
In a 2-monitor solution, browser and viewer are displayed in separate windows (browser left monitor, viewer right monitor). This is very clear and efficient.
However, if i switch back from another application to C1, i have to activate browser and viewer separately in the taskbar.
It would be very helpful if both C1 windows could be activated with 1 click.
Does anyone know a solution ?
Regards

A few days ago I reported the same issue. It seems to be a bug.

While waiting for a fix...
Temporary workaround :
1. Depress the Ctrl key.
2. Click once on the C1 icon in the taskbar : the first window is restored.
3. Click again : the second window is restored.
4. Release the Ctrl key.0 -
Hmmm.. ctrl clicking does nothing extra for me.
I get two C1 icons in the task bar.
Just have to click each one to expand each one.
Ctrl clicking one twice just maximizes one only then minimizes it.

hello,
does'nt work on my computer too ( W10). Have to wait the next release, they told this issue will be corrected..

Hi,
I'm not sure I have been clear enough. I didn't mean Ctrl-clicking the small window previews. I meant Ctrl-clicking twice the app icon in the taskbar without releasing the Ctrl key.
If you get duplicate C1 icons in the taskbar, here is how to fix this : https://www.ghacks.net/2015/08/04/fix-duplicate-icon-issues-on-the-windows-taskbar/ . Then, things should work as described above.
This trick works on my Windows 10 Pro system (1909).

They already said this with the previous version. The problem didn't appear with version 13.1.1.31 but was already here in version 13.1.0.

well understood, Samoreen & thanks, it was what I did, but even, does'nt work . To have my two windows, as I used to , I have to click on the name of my registered workspace, then I get it and I can work as I want, till the next closure of C1. Then I have to do once more this operation. This is the way I can work, till next release.

As per that website, starting C1 directly from the program files folder does initially create only one C1 taskbar icon but as soon as you interact with the second screen, minimize C1 or go to another program a second C1 icon appears on the taskbar so there is no opportunity of ctrl clicking a single icon.I'm using Windows 10 Home so maybe that is the difference?

gb,
You should open the Windows Start menu, find the Capture One entry, right-click it and select "Pin to taskbar". This way, you'll have a permanent C1 icon in the taskbar. Clicking it should launch C1, re-clicking it should minimize it. Once minimized, you'll have the problem described in this thread but the workaround that I suggested should work.

Just tried that and I end up with three C1 icons on the task bar, the pined icon plus two more icon+text which get created after program start.
Clicking or ctrl clicking on the pinned icon just brings up a "program is already running" warning box.

OK. Let's try something else.
1. Quit C1.
2. Make sure to "Unpin" any C1 icon still present on the taskbar (right-click - Unpin from the taskbar).
3. Launch C1 from its desktop icon or from the Windows start menu.
4. Right-click the icon that just appeared on the taskbar and "Pin to the taskbar".
5. Try again the Ctrl-click workaround described above.
If this doesn't work, try again from #1 but in #3, launch C1 by double-clicking the .exe file in Program Files.
If this still doesn't work, I give up.

Much appreciate your patience Samoreen but that does not work either.
Whether pining the exe or the shortcut to the taskbar, in both cases ctrl clicking the single taskbar icon just creates a new icon.
So I'm back to two icons. It's an annoying little problem but I can live with it.

I'm sorry to tell the goodwilling guys of Capture One that I have had it. I'm getting sick of all the bugs in C1P and the fact that is isn't repaired:
- a mess with the counters: often the number of pictures isn't right (e.g. it states "3" while no pictures are there);
- I can't edit a lot of pictures (they seem to be too small. Eh? Why can LR do it?);
- The 2 monitor-bug still isn't fixed;
- The "smart"-albums aren't that smart (it keeps on counting... LR doesn't).
etc...
So I stop using C1P.
For 144 euro's I can use LR for the next year... Perhaps after that year C1P is better and than I'll consider to return.

"I can't edit a lot of pictures (they seem to be too small. Eh? Why can LR do it?"
What do you mean by too small?
Do you mean screen display size?0 -
I already discussed this in another thread: I received photo's from a party (unfortunately in a very low resolution). e.g. I can not crop them (crop is blocked). It seems that one (or more) of the properties is too small for C1P.
Thanks!

@Rien van Ham
What does this have to do with the thread topic ?
0 -
Frustration I guess. :)
0 -
Right. But it started with another thread about the 2 monitor annoyance. And, if you look at the start of this current thread, I agreed with the findings.
0 -
Frustration or not, this is a topic for another or new thread.
And comparisons of what other software products can do better are useless, because if you think LR can do everything better, you should use LR.Of course, the software developers of C1 would be required to fix reproducible errors promptly. Because everything else only promotes anger and frustration

You're right. I posted my frustration in a wrong thread. Sorry!
I never said that LR is better than C1P. I totally don't like the subscriptionmodel of Adobe. But I have to use a reliable piece of software. I hardly do any correction of my (holiday)photo's. I mostly use the software for management. If, at some day, C1P has fixed all errors I may consider to use the software again.
BTW: I'm totally NOT angry... I'm just laughing about it.

Problem apparently fixed in version 13.1.2.35.

Yes, fixed.
You still get two taskbar icons but clicking either will restore both windows.0 -
> You still get two taskbar icons...
In order to fix this, please try the following :
1. Exit C1.
2. Unpin from taskbar any C1 icon (right-click | Unpin). Log out and log in again.
3. Launch C1 from the Start menu or from its desktop icon or preferably by double-clicking CaptureOne.exe in C:\Program Files\Phase One\Capture One 20.4. Once the program is loaded, right-click the C1 icon in the taskbar and Pin to taskbar.
This should be enough. Sometimes, this works only after several attempts or when launching C1 another way (from the desktop icon or from the Start menu). But eventually, the double icon problem should be eliminated.
It seems that C1 has something specific that is causing trouble with the Windows taskbar. I never had any problem when pinning/unpinning program icons to/from the taskbar with other apps. Only with C1. Also, when pinning C1 to the taskbar, the C1 icon sometimes turns to a white rectangular icon.

Hello
No, the problem is partially, but not completely fixed
I am using version 13.1.2.35 since its release.Monitors
1x Eizo cs2740
1x Samsung LS22c570The viewer window should be displayed on the large Eizo, the selection and tool window on the small Samsung.
However, this display is subject to the random principle, sometimes this works, sometimes the viewer window is not displayed at all, or you have to select the 2-monitor display again and then enlarge the viewer window extra.
The whole thing is very unsatisfactoryTranslated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
