There is only one Capture One App so you can not download the incorrect version.   The features are controlled by the license code.  If you use a Sony license code you'll be able to read Sony raw files.  You'll also be able to read Sony raw files if you use a license code for the unrestricted version.

I imported my Sony Raw files to see if I'm able to see them, and I DO. But, it was just confusing to not know if the CO I downloaded is a Sony CO or that ALL in one CO that supports all cameras. Yes, eventually ill upgrade and download CO sony after the trial if all goes well. IS there a way to find out the trial CO I downloaded after registering is really Sony? beside it being able to show the imported sony raw files? I don't have any other camera brand to test if it's not? thanks in advance

Menu bar.  Capture One 20 => License...

You'll get a window giving you license info.  What does yours say?  Mine gives me part of the license code and says "Capture One Pro (perpetual)" .  That is the full, unrestricted version.

Mines say Lic code # and below that, it's " Capture One Pro (Trial) ", below that registered to: email info, below that is ID: #, below that is Free upgrade left: 988.

Anywho ill just take the programs word for it and say it's rendering my raw files for sony in CO. After this trial is up, ill upgrade and fully know its really for sony then i guess.

Ken - if it says "Capture One Pro (Trial)" then it certainly deals with Sony files and it will also deal with files from other makes of camera too. It will stop working when the trail period is up, and then you'll have to buy a licence. If, after the trial, you decide to buy the Sony version, then the licence code you buy will restrict it to just Sony files. Or if you decide to buy a licence for the full version, then the licence code you buy will allow you to continue to work with files from other makes too.

The rendering for a Sony Camera should be no different between a Trial version, Full version and a Sony version.

You can see extactly what Capture One is doing, as follows.

Select a raw image. Using the Capture One default workspace, select the Color Tool Tab (3 overlapping circles). Expand the Base Characteristics tool. Check the ICC Profile, which will show which camera profile is being used.

The trial is for the full Pro version so you can try all of the features. After the trial ends, you'll have licensing choices:

    - Capture One for Sony, which lacks some of the features in Pro, like the Advanced Color Editor and the ability to customize workspaces (there are a lot of other missing features).

    - Capture One Pro for Sony, which gives you all of C1's features, but only works for Sony files.

    - Capture One Pro, which is like C1 Pr for Sony, only it works with all supported cameras and is the one you'll want if you have non-Sony cameras as well.

Thank you all, so far in these 3 days of the trial I like the rendering with CO compared to LR, you can definitely see the difference with macro shots, night shots, the tones and more. I'll go for the all camera support CO Pro, since I'm going to do more commercial work with x1d files, excited to take my work to the next level and learn as much as i can to inspire and create.
