URGENT HELP NEEDED-HOW DO I GET MY BROWSER BACK?

Don't know what I did wrong, but when I open Capture One 4 the browser/workscreen is not there. I can go to the drop down menus above and most things are grayed out. Under File, I only have 3 Session options, New, Recent, etc.

Am I accidentally in Shoot Tethered mode? I desperately need to process photos, so I need my screen that will give me access to folders, images, processing parameters........Help.

  Create a new session
  Then You have all the other options.

  You're right, that did it. though my screen layout settings are at default mode, but I can reconfigure to the way I like it.
  
  What do I need to avoid doing to be prevent this from happening?

  After I reconfigured my viewer screen, I realized my Custom Tab no longer exists. So I suppose this whole experience must be the ugly result of a Crash? CO does crash a lot, but it normally is a minor inconvience--just restart and carry on. Not this time.....
