Capture One 4 activation error
Hi folks. I had Capture One 3.7 LE that came from a Sandisk that I bought.
I should be allowed to install and activate Capture One 4 using the same licence key. But when I try I get the error described in this article

I've tried everything suggested in the article, but it's not fixed.
Has anyone else experienced this problem or know how to fix it?

This error twas solved in 4.0.1 update.
Try that update , this should solve it and if that doesn't , please
create a support case with all pertinent system details, including what you tried to solve this issue.

I got a reply from support to re-install using the 4.0.1 install. But I've not tried it yet. 0 -

4.01 made no difference for me, other than I got a different error message but still can't install
Phase One support tell me that my windows XP permissions are messed up. Problem seems to be that the activation process needs to read an ID from the hard drive but it can't for some reason. Anyone got any ideas?0 -
I know that there's a problem with the windows WMI repository being corrupt on my PC and it's causing problems with some other software.
The only way to fix the WMI is to reinstall windows, and I only recently did that so it's not too much hassle to do it again.
If you want to check your WMI, try this utility;

Although, if you have a problem with yours, I'm not 100% sure if that it what's causing the registration problems.0 -
I used the utility in the above post to partially repair some of the issues with the WMI on my machine, and using the 4.0.1 installer I have been able to re-install and activate Capture One 4 successfully.
I'm not sure how much effect the WMI issues had on activating Capture One 4, but it was causing problems with some other software.0
