Histogram for masked area on layer
Is there any way to see the histogram for the masked area on a layer instead of seeing the histogram for the whole image?
Regards,
Dan.

Not that I can think of but what are you trying to achieve - there may be another approach to it.

what are you trying to achieve by only seeing the histogram for the masked area? 0 -
I actually have the same question.
As part of my workflow for black and white printing, I make lots of level adjustment layer masks. I do this to control the tonal range of all parts of the image (control the black point / white point in different areas of the image). Photoshop has a histogram that will display the tones in just the masked area, but I'm trying to find a similar feature in C1. Is it even possible?
Thanks!

It isn't a feature of Capture One. I wonder how it would work. What if you had drawn a fairly soft-edged mask? How much of it would be included?

That's a good question. In photoshop it just looks at the area under the mask in a levels adjustment layer. I can also display the histogram to show luminosity instead of RGB, which helps with the B&W tonal control. I then am able to move in the black and white points as needed to control the tonality of the area under the mask.
I think this histogram / masked area capability may be a feature exclusive to photoshop. It doesn't exist in LR, C1, Luminar, Topaz studio or other software I've tried. The histograms in those apps are always for the entire image.
