remove session from dropdown menu
Hi, can you please tell me why aren't sessions removed from the dropdown menu when they're removed from the computer? I get cryptic messages in Capture One to the effect that the session can't be found and the implication seems to be that it will be removed but there it still is in the list.
Thanks,
Dave

So no one else notices this? I have a huge list of obsolete sessions in this menu, too numerous to count and obviously of no further utility. Do you have to trash the preferences to get rid of it? 0 -
Hi There,
This behavior is kind of annoying and I think session management needs some work in C1 Pro. To remove a session from the menu you have to select "remove session..." from the bottom of the session pop-up menu. Whatever session is active at the time will be removed from the list but the files themselves will remain. When doing this if the next session in the list is no longer in it's location you will get a error dialog then the active session will remain but the one that it couldn't find should be removed from the list instead.

Hi Dave,
I looked into this a little further and have written this script which I saved as an application bundle.
http://www.bwstudios.biz/downloads/Clear_Sessions.zip
This app will
1) Quit C1 Pro if it is running
2) Clear the array for the sessions menu by writing to the plist file for C1 Pro ( com.phaseone.application.captureonedslr.plist )
3) Launch C1 Pro if it was running prior to the script's launch
This script will not move or delete any folders or files and only alters com.phaseone.application.captureonedslr.plist file that is in the preferences folder.
I'm researching a method that would let the user see every item in the menu and delete just the sessions that you want instead of of all of them.

Thanks very much for that. You're quite right, it really is just annoying to be collecting scores of orphaned sessions. If there was something in there I really wanted I wouldn't be able to find it anyway. Your scripting talents are much appreciated. Perhaps there's a job at Phase One for you 😉
Cheers,

MT,
The issue of not being able to clear all of those session has bugged me for a long time.
THANK YOU for the app, nicely done!!0 -
Glad you found it useful!! It has bugged me as well. The approach of the first script was a little crude. Over the weekend I did some research and found a better way to code it. This version has options to keep items that are still found in their proper location or clear the session menu completely. This version also works with Capture One PRO or DB. Let me know if you have any issues.
