This latest update has many problems in Windows 10 64x .
continuous lockouts and very slowly.
In my Surface it goes far worse than before.0 -
I see that no one has chimed in on this issue. I too and have significant performance issues. I've seen it occur when I execute some number of spot operations (30+) as well as when I have a few layers with multiple masks in a clone layer. C1 just becomes unresponsive for seconds, sometimes 10's of seconds and no processor or disk loading is seen in the performance monitor. I don't recall what the memory consumption was before, so I can't comment on what it is as I do work. I'll try to keep an eye on it. If C1 is iconified and de-iconified in this state, it doesn't come back for sometime. I've had it happen at other times, such as when multiple images have a few variants.
I cannot say if this became an issue after the Win 10 upgrade weeks ago as it was just last week that I had a couple of jobs that required this level of editing. Use of black plexi in a dry climate which we have in New Mexico is a recipe for spotting issues and I've also used the spotting tool extensively in the past. I've resorted to doing some operations then exiting C1 and restarting after a minute to avoid any loss of work. Kills one's workflow but nothing near the hang up times I've been seeing and the possibility of having to redo the work!!!
Having been a C1 user since V3, I've never seen anything like it.
[Edit]
I've been asked to change an image and I can report on the memory consumption. I've started C1 and it has my another non-edited image selected. Memory consumption by C1 is 646MB, select one of edit variants of another image and the memory consumption jumps to 3,067MB over a 45 second time period.0 -
Go to Preferences - Image, change preview image size to approx 1920 pixels and that should greatly improve your performance by default preview image set to high, that is why working with mask possibly you getting this kind of issue. 0
