Cap1 Pro 9 Keyword search
Excellent upgrade, many new usefull features. On the Keywording topic, one of the primary uses is to find all images that match some criteria e.g. Antarctica>Emporer Penguin>Summer. Can Cap1Pro now search for matches and display them ?
Lightroom was/is by far the master in this area and hoping Cap1 is now catching up.

Well, I've answered my own question and I'm impressed. I've been running with Lightroom CC for 12 months now in parallel with Cap1Pro 8. The reason for this is that [in my opinion] Cap1 is far superior to Lightroom in terms of RAW editing. However, its DAM facilities were sadly lacking, hence my use of Lightroom using a common database.
This has now all changed with V9.
I've imported my Lightroom Keywords [exported from Lightroom as text] and named the import 'Controlled Keywords'. This gives me a controlled Library under the Metadata Tab which I can use to associate with any new images ingested into Cap1v9. Once associated. a new Keyword entry [or hierarchy] appears in the Catalog Keywords area.
Searching is still done from the Library Tab with the conventional Radio Buttons [can't see any other way of doing this].
It also now seems you can delete/erase old Keywords, an option sadly missing in V8.
I'll experiment a little more but it seems I no longer have any use for Lightroom !!0 -
You can use the Advanced search to search for keywords.
You can save the search for re-use if required.
You can use the search to define a Smart Album too. Useful if it is something you will re-use or just add to as work progresses.
There are more possibilities depending on your needs - these suggestions are just starting points.
HTH.

Cheers Grant,
With the V9 release. this is now matured into a very powerful RAW editing AND DAM tool.
Keep up the good work Guys.

From what I've observed, I only see the radio buttons for doing a keyword search if that particular folder is highlighted. It nicely shows me all the keywords in that folder. But if I wanted to do a hunt for keywords for some other photo that is in a different folder, I don't see any way to do that. I don't see a way to do a global search for a particular keyword and the photos show. I'm trying to get away from LR since I think C1 is much better, but in LR if I'm looking for all the photos in my library of the B-17's, I can click on that keyword and they all show. Is there any way to do this in C1? So far I haven't found out how, but I'm new at it so it could be there and I just haven't figured it out.

I answered my own ?. If I highlight "all photos", that will give me the list of all the keywords.
