    Hi,

may I suggest you a visit here: http://blog.phaseone.com/
When you use the search function there you'll find answers and tips how you can use the function. You'll notice that the Clarity features has now three entries which work a bit different considering the achieved results being Punch the most "intelligent" with its lifting of the midtone's contrasts. The Classic is the tradicional mode which already exists in the version 5 or 6. The "Structure" adds at positive values a fine structure to the image with the visual effect of slightly increased microcontrast / fine detail rendition while negative values show a tendency of smoothing out. As it can be used selectively via Local Adjustments / Layer I've used negative values recently on some files which were taken with a mirror type tele lens (500mm reflex) to improve the background by smoothing out a bit some of the typical donut-shape rendering of reflected light spots. An extreme -100 setting looked to me considerably better than the original. However in general lower amounts / more subtile values are better for avoiding overcooked looks.
