Some tips. They may overlap with crash control attempts. If so up to you to skip them.

    MS .NET Framework 4
You already did a repair, and from your description (the program starts) it is not what I would expect to be the primary cause. Nevertheless, users reported they solved similar issues by manually installing a separate .NET 4 installation rather than through Windows Update. In case you did not try this, you can find information here:
    viewtopic.php?p=46201#p46201

    Basic CO6 clean-up
This includes preferences files (or entire Phase One folder), batch process history, default session file.

    Monitor profile
Because previous CO6 releases are not running as well, I would look at my monitor profile. Has there been any calibration lately? Is your monitor profile an ICC v4 type? For a test reset the display profile to its default.

Please let us know whether you need further details to perform actions mentioned.

    Hi paul

yes had already done what you suggested re .Net 4

and did a full clean up before doing the steps I mentioned

the monitor profile hadnt changed at all as I have been too lazy to change it for quite a while, and the software used to work fine for ages before with the same profile so it cant be that i dont think

its just since the installation of 6.2 this has happened

Ahh I may have had a brainwave!

For security reasons my main pc account is a non admin version, i also have an admin version too which i dont really use, so i logged into this account and yes C1 had been uninstalled on this account to of course, but there were still lots of files to clean up here that i had deleted on the other account, so I went through the full clean up and installed 6.1.1 which was the last fully working version (although even that was a bit slow)

well since deleting the left over files on the admin account too, C1 6.1.1 is working fine, when it wasnt before

    coincidence?

will stick with 6.1.1 for the moment I guess unless I have problems

or do you really think that was it?

I still have problems with CaptureOne Pro 6.2 (Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.GHz, 8.00 Go fo RAM, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit) :

Here is what happens too frequently when I use color correction or a mask (these screen copies were taken after a couple of minutes of inactivity :

    Memory usage :

    The histogram has disappeared :

The main window (I use dual monitor) shows a blurry picture :

Is OpenCL supported on your machine?
Does running the disable script help in any regard?

    Hi,
Two weeks with C1 6.2, same problem every time I switch Process Recipes: get blurred image, the rest appears to function, have to close and restart. Along the way, got several freezes, have to use Task Manager to close the application.
W7 pro, 64b, 4Gb. Sorry to say, the best raw processor, the worst software engineering. Comparable only with MS WORD ver 2 or 6, for those who remember old times.
I have said it in the past, I shall say it again. I suggested P1 to use some of the users as beta testers. I am willing to be one. I asked no money, I need no money. I need stable program. Why P1 is so reluctant to receive help?

I strongly agree with you last statement...I too would do the testing for them for no money. The program already logs a load of info to look at for problems. Why not get help from actual users in actual work environments that cannot be recreated.

It might be argued that we're testing the software for Phase One anyway - and that we're paying them for the privilege of doing so...

That is exactly the position I feel I am in, what's worse, is its cost a ton of money for higher spec computers to little avail, and no end of inconvenience, wrestling with the considerable problems this software seems to have, not to mention the downtime with actually trying to get jobs done.

I dont want to beta test it, I've got enough to do. I want the program I paid for to work. No ifs, no buts.

that's not an argument, its the case at hand 😊
If Phase shells out beta to the people that are likely to buy and use, this backlash is avoidable...yes maybe slower release, but surely better than retracing steps to correct issues that are reported AFTER great level of frustration vs test and report.
Meanwhile sending hot fixes to users of the current version out that have issues....Well maybe that is a bit much to manage?

Just did a Service Pack update to Win7-64. lets see if this helps it speed up.
FYI, The only issue I have with C1 is it being sluggish. Otherwise, I have LOVE the abilities it offers.
I still have a little more control in my outdoor shoots with Fill Light and then the 3 controls in the color section of ACR, like Color Lum Brightness,Saturation and individual Hue control. maybe I need to dig further in C1 to be able to control this.

    Hi Drew,
Not sure about Mike, but the OpenCL I updated with my ATI video driver really DID help.
Thumbs load without the lag and adjustments do happen rather instant! Why didn't I know about this before?
And it sure wasn't in the C1 University test I have been doing.
    Regardless, Thanks Drew

Yes, my graphic card supports OpenCl.

    Yes, it seems to.

sam Problem. Version 6.2.1 mor bad. so i go back 6.2. after this, the windows explorer crash when i mark or copy .cr2 ore .tiff Files or open a folder with this files or folder on CF card.
Think 1 week my system is damage or virus. now i find "P1.WIC.NativeComWrapper.dll" in the WIC64 Folder of Phase One make the Problem. I put it out of the folder and the windows explorer worke.
Also C1 work like bevor (with the sam crash bevor i make the change to 6.2.1 and back) without this file.
    Win 7 Prof 64 Bit, I7 Intel, 12 GB
Since Version 6 are the most problems and crash and since Version 5 if you have hundred of pictures in folder the need the half live to generat the proxis...bevor you can work...

Agree heartily. Would love to be beta tester. That's basically what i'm doing now anyway, along with testing different photo editing software. I upgraded my photoshop CS to 5 but it doesn't compare in quality to Capture one. I accidentally tried it, a friend said it came with his Leica D Lux 4. D Lux 5 comes with Lightroom, probably because Capture One has such a steep learning curve and is slow. Compared to Lightroom Capture one is a turtle but results are amazing. For the pro who needs speed, that would be a serious problem. My desktop is less than one year old but does not have NVidia chip so does not support Open CL. I believe that is why the program is slow on my system. Despite that I really love it. Sign me up for beta testing please.
