About to make the switch...need one more thing though
I have been an LR user since the 3rd gen, I believe. Always stand alone. I watched enough tutorials and read enough about Capture One Pro that I downloaded the sample and played with it last night. The first thing that blew me away was how much faster and smoother it ran. Second, was the clear command over the colors and toning I have in it that I either did not have or could not easily find in any version of LR.
The one thing keeping me from buying it now is image stacking/ focus stacking. Is this possible. I am about 80% a film shooter and with film, the exposure latitude (6+ stops in some cases) is immense. What I like to do is bracket exposure by shooting a frame metered for the shadows, mids, and highlights and then stack them. Problem is, I cannot find this feature in the the version I have. Is it hidden somewhere? Is it completely not possible? I see that stitching images is possible so I am hoping stacking might be as well.
I shoot mostly automotive stuff so multiple frames of the same subject allows me to get the most out of it when I scan a few film frames and upload their tiff files.
Thanks.

Image stacking is not available at this moment, unfortunately. 0 -
You can edit images in external programs though. So, if you have a favourite HDR or exposure stacking and or focus stacking software you can use C1 to produce the input to those applications. It is not a smooth as in LR where you can select multiple images and open as layers in PS but you can do the same thing with C1 by exporting selected images to a location and then opening them in the external tool.
There was some discussion recently on the version 12 wish list thread about how to use the current product to do that work. Check out this message (and a few others around it): viewtopic.php?f=72&t=27931&p=133706&hilit=edit+with#p1337130 -
Thanks for the tip. I will use an outside stacking tool and then import it into C1. 0
