    Besides starting a support case as already suggested, you could try this:
    Start CO8 while keeping the Alt-key pressed. This allows you to browse and open existing sessions/catalogs, or create one new. This way you will circumvent a possible corrupt session or catalog of reopening at startup.

    I apparently have a corrupt session from CP7 that is cause sing the crash.

    Will have to reimport but not a huge deal.
