Metadata problem
Although I've used Capture One for a while, I've ignored the metadata tab until now. However, when I enter text into a field, it is not saved: it's gone when I close and reopen Capture One. I'm probably doing something stupid ... can anyone help?
(I did look at the online help, and it says nothing about how to save metadata.)
Cheers!

In version 6, the metadata was stored in sidecar files. It seems that in 7, it is now stored in the C1 database, either the session or the catalog one. I found the table that stores the metadata - ZVARIANTMETADATA - but I am miffed on how that table relates to the actual picture data.
It looks like there are multiple records for one picture (variant). This would explain, in part, the problem you are exposing. I suspect that the metadata-keywords areas of C1 is not well developed (yet).
My objective was developing a small application to manage the metadata/keywords, a bit similar to the LightRoom very useful one. Access to the database gives me a chance to have a clean application... if I can figure out what C1 does under the hood...This application is also the core of a publishing type tool, to keep a reference of my pictures as I export them to Zenfolio after Processing. I want the metadata in C1 to have a notation on where the processed jpg was published to and when.0
