Control + arrow key seems to work in most circumstances (wherever the UI focus is). Not quite as convenient as the mouse wheel. It may be possible to programme the wheel to generate the right keys but I have not tried.

    Thanks Martin,

Your suggestion works with the right and left arrow key, but it is still a two handed operation and slower than 3.7. I do pick up some time with 4.5 faster processing, but am stll overall slower. I have been unable to program the mouse wheel for that function.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

    Bill,

first, go to the Keyboard editor and assign a key to Process Image, Insert was the key in 3.7.x. If you click on the Crop tools you should be able to use your mouse as desired and use Shift + arrows to navigate through the Browser and Insert (or whichever key you choose) to place the file in the Process queue.

With 4.x it is important to remember that clicking on either the Browser or the Tools changes the focus of the keyboard. If the focus is on the Tools you can use Tab or Shift+Tab to move between adjustments and Shift+Arrows to move between files.

    Thanks for your suggestion Terry,

I have tried it and have found that this two handed operation still is slower and that with my right hand on the mouse and having to use my left hand for the arrow keys on the right side of the keyboard is a bit awkward for me.

I have been trying for about two weeks now to get 4.5 pro throughput to equal or get close to 3.7.8 but so far no luck and I am getting a bit weary. I really appreciate your suggestion.

    Regards,

    Bill

Isn't the speed in which the screen refreshes a problem?
In 3.7 the files appear snappy whereas in 4.5 it takes at least a second for every image to appear

I have given up with 4.x.x and will stay with 3.7.8 until I change my cameras. I will then review whatever version of C1Pro is available and the alternatives.

Like Bill I find the navigation does not work for me, along with the copy adjustments capability and lack of proper IPTC handling makes it unworkable for me. Might be fine for the tinkere(or fine art user) who only works with a handful of images but not for regular production work.

Yes Gert-Jan, the refresh rate being slower adds significantly to my throughput problem. I feel similar to Martin that the product seems to cater to folks in a non volume production environment, not to those of us who need high volume throughput. It is a shame that for my requirements, there were good benchmarks in their 3.8 pro product, but in almost all aspects important to volume users like me the new pro product has not equaled the previous version but has actually regressed.

I guess there was a business decision to be made on where to focus the performance of the product.

If anyone in a production environment has solved this problem and has improved their workflow performance, I certainly would like them to comment on how they achieved this.

Again, thanks for all of your suggestions and comments.
