Shouldn't RAW pictures be bigger or = to jpeg?

    Pipes!,

The pixel dimensions of the chip will determine overall file size.
JPEGs can be processed from the QuickProof option or using the Process Tool. Processing offers more settings to control your output.
Be sure at the Process tab you have selected Output Scaling to be 100% and JPEG High Quality, 8 bit, 300 resolution.
    A 1D MkII test image for me produced a large JPEG Image opened in Photoshop is 23.4MB 11.6 x 7.7 @ 300dpi

I believe you will see significant difference in image quality between an in-camera processed JPEG capture and a RAW converted JPEG using Capture One, with the C1 image being superior.

    Sincerely,

    Thanks for the info.

I just noticed that the jepegs from the camera are signifigantly larger than the jepeg ot tiff files processed through C1.

You are right about the image quality however, the C1 results are much better due to extra flexibility in processing.
