nobody's tried C1 with Canon G6? If I can't adjust WB tint to any other direction than worse (from default +50)... this is a no-go for me, I use both 20D and G6, and I only want to use one RAW converter

    Jouko,

Check some of your camera settings, particularly the Function > Photo effect to see if it is Off. I see there is a setting there called Vivid that may be pumping up the tint. Most camera settings that adjust image should be off, and then let Capture One do the work. Be sure to shoot a grey card or MacBeth chart to establish your WB in C1.

The Tint tool adjusts an image between Green <-> Magenta for a cooler or warmer image. If your G6 RAWs come in at 50 + and you still desire a warmer image, you can further adjust on the Color Wheel. Also suggest using Adobe RGB color space for output which tends to be a bit warmer than other profiles.

Let me know how your 'testing' goes.

    Sincerely,

    kc

Now how does the vivid setting affect RAW files then... RAW is RAW and that's it.... and I don't have vivid settings on, I just checked and I have a custom setting with everything to defaults except contrast is low.
No other RAW converter has problems with my G6 files, RSE, Adobe ACR for example work just fine...
What C1 does it always sets the tint value to +50 (which is maximum), and making an adjustment to anything else makes the image look horrible.
Also, when I use the WB tool, click an image, the color temp changes, but tint is always set to +50. And I can click anything, like green forest, blue sky, or white wall, and tint is +50... now is this a bug or what?

    Jouko,
Don't beleive 'em if they say there is no in-camera processing even with RAW... and the DigicII and CMOS, I bet that's their secret to moire! I don't think that is what is in the G6 though. The point was to eliminate any variables that may be introduced by a camera setting.
You are the first User to raise this issue.
I am curious what WB setting you are using? Have you tried all the different ones; and captured various subject shots and all have WB pegged at 50+ ?
If this is the case, my thought is that the .icm profile for the G6 is inadequate. With the PRO version you can edit and save as... the Canon G6 generic camera profile using the Color Editor, but I'm not sure if it will have an effect on the Tint.

Let me know what you can determine and we'll go from there.

Some of the presets (tungsten for example) sets the tint to +20, but my point is that is tint value is anything else than +50, the images look terrible, tint being way off (and often terrible even when tint IS +50). I just shot Gtetag color target, just to check how accurate the profile is, and set the white balance according to the light grey patches... the result is OK, but the tint is +50.
A quick test: Gretag color target, click WB on second lightest patch, and the results is 7500K/tint +50 (and the image looks good). I reset the WB to \"as shot\" setting, and change the sliders manually to 7500K/tint +50... and the image looks terrible, with strong greenish cast.
Summary: tint adjustment is broken/unusable with G6.
I also have a 20D, nothing wrong there, tint works as it shoud.
Also, Auto WB works relatively well with G6, but I can't touch the tint

    Here's an example: http://www.kolumbus.fi/jouko.ruuskanen/c1/C1G6.jpg
The upper WB is set using the sliders, the lower by clicking the second lightest grey patch
