Cropping 1dx 24-70mm
Great, Lens correction does some interesting stuff.
Not sure what but it looks good.
But I have a problem with it. Perhaps somebody can put me right?
Select photo.
Software recognizes 1dx and 24-70 2.8.
Select C for crop. oooo, it's cropped already. Only slightly but must be the lens correction.
BUT it does not let me make my own crop unless I move Distortion slider to Zero.
I'm happy that the program attempts to correct the lens. I'd like a simpler way to adjust the crop the way I want without the extra steps with the Distortion slider.
Thanks
Paul

I haven't seen this with my 1D X using 24-105, 70-200 II, or Sigma 120-300. I first tested the camera using my 24-70, but that was before CO7.
But I did notice it on some of my G12 photos, where there was already a crop set as you described. I was able to stretch the crop to enlarge it. I didn't look at the distortion slider though.0 -
Paul,
Is the cropping implementation different to V6?
Irrespective of how a V6 crop originates (on my installations - I assume it is the way it works for all) if you set out to change a pre-existing crop that has its corners touching the available frame edges you must move a corner (diagonal adjustment cursor marker) first to break the crop away from the edge boundary. Odd I thought but it has always worked that way for me so I assumed it is a feature.
Is V7 different? If so is it different for all crops or just those that have been automatically applied by lens adjustment activity?

Lens correction has been expanded in CO7 over CO6. As a result, you may encounter automatic lens correction. In previous versions of CO this was limited to the Phase One/Leaf lens/back/camera combinations.
A default setting is the checkbox Hide Distorted Areas. If you uncheck the box, you have the entire image back again.0 -
Thanks, I'll try that.
Have a great day
