How to turn of auto-generation of variants?
I have a minor problem that I hope someone knows the answer to.
Whenever I import my images to Capture One, the program automatically creates colored variants of all images, and in many cases promotes the colored variant over the original. How do I turn this function off? I only need one version of each image after import (and it should be the original version).
I have looked everywhere in user manuals and forums without luck. The only information I can find is on how to create variants and clones, but nothing about a general setting that auto-generates them.
Hope someone can help, I assume there is a setting somewhere that I cannot find.
NB: My workflow when importing images is to add the new folder in the catalog and synchronize (then all the images are imported, and the auto-generation of variants starts).

That's not the "official" way of importing photos, try using the import dialogue.
I am not sure what you mean by "coloured" what types of files are you importing?

Can you record a short clip of this?
If so be careful to not expose any sensitive information on screen...0 -
I'm by no means an experienced user, so sorry if it a stupid question. The same thing happens when I try to use the File -> Import Images.
I’ve added a picture of it below.

I don't use catalogues much but both the Sessions I do use and catalogs are designed to import the images (if import of the original images is preferred ("Managed" in catalogue terminology) rather than leaving them somewhere else in your file system ("Referenced" in catalogue terminology).
It sort of looks like you are getting a double import somehow, perhaps ending up with additive processing but for them to end up as variants seems a little odd - at least to a sessions user!
I don't recall seeing a topic like this before so maybe your best option would be to create a Support Case, send in the Log files and ask the Support team to identify what is happening and, hopefully, why it is happening.
HTH.

Thanks for the comments. I'll try to see if I can figure it out myself or create a support case. 0
