Lens model not showing up
I noticed that the pictures (from my Nikon D300s) imported recently do not indicate the lens model used, in the Media Pro left panel.
This concern pictures imported in Media Pro with the new version 1.3 of Media Pro.
Pictures imported before have this information.
According to both Nikon Capture and exiftool, the EXIF field containing the lens model information is there. It smells like a Media Pro bug.
I am using Media Pro with a Mac Book Pro running OSX 10.6.8,
Am I the only one to encounter this problem?

You may be correct as I have just noticed you are on a Mac.
But it has never shown up in the Windows version, even on EM2 as you can see here.

And if you have it on the Mac version then I want it on the Windows version. ☹️
Come on Phase one where's the continuity in your software?0 -

Dream on! It's difficult to get continuity between versions on the same platform, so across operating systems...?
I've not seen lens names in iView Media Pro, Microsoft Expression Media or Phase One Media Pro on my Windows machines.
While lens data is stored within Exif data the model is usually held as a code, supposedly a private code known only by the manufacturer. However there is some software that will decode this. The notable one is Exiftool and the release notes for this regularly include thanks to someone for identifying a new lens code which is incorporated in that new version.
I would guess that if it does work on a Mac then this is down the camera updates that Apple supply i.e. they are mirroring the Exiftool changes. I can't see how this would work on Windows unless it was a data item available through WIC. As manufacturers have been slow to issue these I can't see them updating it every time they make a new lens. If it's not done via a WIC then you're relying on Phase One to be able to convert lens codes into names, and to issue regular updates when new cameras and lenses are produced. As I've already said - Dream on!

Yes, in listview it was possible to see the used lens but ONLY in list view:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/25580003/LensInfo.JPG
But, already in Expression Media this was an issue. In the following movie you can see the lens info disappearing when rebuilding a image...
Because this subject sounded familiair to me i did a search in my history and it seems that i posted a similair question on the DAM book forum earlier:
The content of that message (01 september 2011) was:
My images (DNG's from Nikon D90 NEF) contain lens information, i can see it with ExiftoolGui for example.
Also is this EXIF info visable in EM2 (list view) but ONLY for the images older than 1 jan 2010...
So, all recent images don't show the lens information anymore...
Indeed, the lens information (images before jan 2010) is disappearing after rebuilding... See for yourself in the following movie:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25580003/Lens%2 ... %20EM2.wmv
Can someone explain this strange behaviour?
Why was the lens information 'imported' in EM2 earlier correctly and does it not work anymore?]

What are the experiences of others?

I realize that (using a Mac) the lens model does show up with NEF files.
But the lens model does not show up with JPG files (imported with MediaPro 1.3).0 -
@NN228802UL
And what if you made some DNG of your NEF's?

The problem is solved (with my configuration at least) with the current version 1.3.2 0
