Import problem with C1 10

When I open a Capture One file that is old, I am asked if I want to upgrade the file to the current version. I click "yes", and then have an empty file. When I try to import files from the session capture folder, it imports them AND all the images imported the last time I did this. So, If file A has 100 images in the capture folder, file B has 50 images, and file C has 25 images, the import command will yield 100 images for A, 150 for file B, and 75 for C.

How can I stop this? Currently, I delete the files (move to session folder) but it makes me worry I am deleting the originals and it slows down imports and getting started while I wait for the delete operation to complete.

    Now this happens when importing into a new session directly from a CF card. This is quite irritating. Is there a fix for this?
