In one case you're in the "Basic" tab, in the other you're in the "Advanced" tab.

I'd advise you to watch this very good webinar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9itdJbin-c

Thanks for the reply, but I don't think it is just that. In the advanced tab I get the same one color point only. It goes the same on the skin tone tab, one color point only and yet the tutorial shows we can select many color points.

    And

The Phase one help even in basic tab shows too you can select more than one color points.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "color point"? Do you mean multiple color ranges?

If you see the examples I posted you can see several points on the color wheel

    like here

    https://fstoppers.com/education/achievi ... -one-68502

Yet when I use the picker I can only pick and show one point only. Why? Why can't I sample multiple color points like in the example?

OK I'm probably too dense but I don't see what you mean, sorry.

... on the tutorial, and on phase one help you see 7 points on the wheel, 5, or even 3. However, when I sample a color I only get one point. On other tutorials only one point. I want to understand why?

Oh, I think you're mistaken here. They're not selection points, they are handles to modify the color range. PhaseOne used dots prior to v9 and they changed them to little pegs in v9. Probably thought it was a bit confusing to have dots for the selection points AND for the modification handles (rightfully so, your message seems to prove). 😊

Ok, I understand now. Thanks. How do you get to display the modification handles. For more that I do I cannot replicate the example here

    https://fstoppers.com/education/achievi ... -one-68502

or in phase one tutorial. It never shows more than the picked color which make very confusing to follow a tutorial or the help.

I assume you are using the Pro version.

Basic colour editor preselects 6 colours and allows you to specify which ones you want to change by using the dropper to select from the colour wheel.

The 7th option is to adjust the whole image.

Advanced has no preselection and so you pick the colours you want and add them to a "list".

Skin (or indeed any other colour provided the Skin algorithm gives the results you seek) works with a single selection.

Or multiple selections if you use Local Adjustment layers.

One thing that can happen form time to time with a tool like the Colour editor (where the screen space required for such a potentially large tool is quite high) is that it does not have enough space to display itself in full. It will try to make the space required but may not succeed. Does your screen meet the minimum specification recommended?

Try floating the tool and dragging it to a large size.

If nothing works you have something strange going on and in that case I would that you create a Support Case to obtain assistance from Capture One's support team.

With regard to the dots (having seen the exchange since I opened up this entry for my reply) the white dots are control points, the black circle in the colour area with the colour fill is a colour selection point.

As John Doe has observed the recent V9 release changes the way that the display is presented for the selection points for the positioning in the colour wheel. You should still be able to make multiple selections.

    HTH.

The handles are always displayed. The only difference is they don't look like dots now.

Ok, I get it, it was now my turn of being too dense. On C1 9 no more dots other than the sampled color.

It would be nice if phase one updated their online help to reflect this. The color editor help is still C1 8 only.

Thanks for the help, I was completly puzzled with this.

You're absolutely right here. C1 needs a complete overhaul of its online help, IMO.

You're welcome, that's what the user forum is for. 😊

I think it has been confirmed elsewhere that the documentation is being updated.

It's no small task to do that in a environment where things are constantly changing and when working in multiple languages. I doubt they have a small army of technical authors that can be rotated through a mass of products to keep them busy - as would Apple or Adobe for example.

    Meanwhile see if this helps:

Also the recent webinars that covered the way the features have been changed and enhanced.

Generally speaking, the webinars are an excellent source of information about using Capture One's features.

Yes, but I am deaf. I did check them but it is almost impossible for me to follow them.

If Phaseone would like to include some subtitles I would appreciate that and perhaps other users too.

That would be a good idea indeed. Don't know if anyone could contact David Grover directly to suggest this?
