Show Viewer preferences not Sticky

Hello everyone,

I remapped the G key to show and hide viewer. This function used to allow me to have two different views. When you hide the viewer it would show all the images in Grid Mode, and when you show the Viewer it would show the thumbnails across the bottom in Filmstrip Mode. But now it seems to keep those the same, so if I have Filmstrip selected when I switch to hide viewer it would show thumbnails in Filmstrip Mode.
Now my memory isn't great and I am fairly new to CO. But I am pretty sure it used to work the other way with each mode allowing a different view.
Has anyone else experienced this, or am I mis-remembering the functionality.

    Did you save your workspace after having made your choice ?

    If you hide the viewer the Browser expands to fill the screen it it is set to Grid mode.

    Grid view, when displayed as a strip across the bottom of the screen, looks like Film Strip mode depending a little on the size of the browser thumbnails you are using.

    If you are in Filmstrip mode the Browser will expand to fill the space vacated by the Viewer which may well means a single image displayed that looks blurred since it will be just a thumbnail size file.

    You might also want to check your settings for "Hide Browser Labels" and "Show Browser Toolbar".

    Does using G mean that you have redefined the Short Cut key for selecting the Gradient Mask?

    I am working with a Windows system - there are sometimes slight differences required depending on the Operating System in use but I don't recall this being one of them.

    Hello SFA,

    Yes I remapped the Gradient shortcut, I came over from Lightroom and using the G key to show the Grid is imbedded in my brain, so it was making the transition easier.

    So I just remembered I hadn't updated the CO on my laptop and it indeed lets you have 2 different view modes. When the viewer is up I can select the thumbnails to be in Filmstrip Mode, and when I hide Viewer the thumbnails are in Grid Mode.

    Is it easy to Roll Back to an earlier version?

    I will submit a support ticket to Capture One
