DNG support for Kalpanika tools

Hi,

I'd like to ask you add the CORRECT support of the Kalnika created DNGs for Sigma cameras. The problem is that the overexposed areas are filled with yellow color.

    As far as I can see, Capture One doesn't currently support any Sigma cameras. That means that there is no guarantee that you will be able to use it for images from such cameras, even if they have been converted to DNG.

    DNG is DNG, and C1 declares its support. However, this support is faulty, as it is an error in interpretation of DNG in C1 (it clips the value above some level).

    If you look at the Wikipedia pages for DNG (Yes, I know, it's Wikipedia and may not be entirely correct but the pages do not seem to have changed much since I first read them so I think they are probably accurate enough for this discussion) it is quite clear there are some variations in DNG implementation.

    Likewise there is no reason to suppose that a DNG converter that takes files in one format and converts to another is always going to get the settings right.

    For what it is worth the colour readouts in Capture One using the default selected "DNG Linear" profile suggest that the blue value in the areas that appear yellow in the flowers at the bottom centre of the image are extremely low for some reason. Either that or the reds and greens are extremely high.

    I can correct it but woinder why the converted file shows up that way.

    I loaded the file into Affinity Photo as well (since it is quite a popular Adobe alternative in recent years) and that displays more or less the same result as Capture One but with the addition of some small red areas in the yellow. Is is also noticeable that the overall image seems somewhat darker in the Affinity conversion compared to the C1 interpretation viewed on the same screen.

    Also the Affinity presentation seems to shift the image in the display area leaving a very narrow black bar on the left side and a somewhat deeper black bar across the top and cropping the opposite edges. The C1 images seems to be complete without the crop.

    Overall it makes me wonder if there is more to finding a solution to the problem you are observing than just making adjustments to C1 for the specific Sigma to DNG converter you mention.

    Please create a support-case with your request, and be sure to provide some information on what Kalnika is, as I can't find information on this converter.
